Nicole Scanlon, JD

Managing Director, Family Wealth Management

As Managing Director of Family Wealth, Nikki specializes in a wide range of complex services by aligning family wealth with vision and values, comprehensive aggregated reporting, and clarity to governance and philanthropic endeavors.  She assists in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of investment plans in coordination with the client’s legal and tax advisors to develop wealth preservation strategies.

Motivated by her desire to counsel and help clients develop financial confidence, Nikki finds true meaning in her work by building strong relationships with her clients and strategic partners, many whom have become friends and confidants. As a former estate planning lawyer, Nikki has a particular aptitude in working with clients to develop comprehensive wealth transfer strategies, with specific attention to tax management and charitable giving.

Growing up a competitive horse rider, Nikki excelled at a national level in the discipline of dressage. Dressage riding requires great focus, precision and trust. Success is often gained through understanding, persistence, and the flexibility to pivot when things don’t go exactly as planned. Nikki’s experience in the ring has allowed her to manage family wealth office, with poise, compassion, and relentless hard work.

Nikki continues to use her legal background to pursue justice as a volunteer mediator in our community and is actively involved with several nonprofits. She is a board member of Athletes Committed to Educating Students (ACES), and serves on the board of directors of Diverse Daisies.  She also serves as a committee member for Perspectives Family Services.

Earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and her Juris Doctorate from Mitchell Hamline College of Law, she also earned her master’s degree in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law. Nikki is a member of the Bar in Minnesota and New York.

Nikki lives in Linden Hills with her husband and young daughter. She enjoys being active and is a certified yoga instructor. She competed nationally as an equestrian and enjoys skiing with her family.

Nicole has been recognized by Finance and Commerce as a Top Women in Finance, for her outstanding contributions and dedication to women within her profession, community and society at large
